Two countries, 17 wind turbines and invaluable experience!
We are publishing the experience story
of Richard
Rullis, Senior Occupational Health and Safety
Specialist at SIA SAFETY FIRST, about wind farm construction
projects in Croatia and Germany!
- Adaptation and finding
solutions
- Working in an international
team
- Team strength and
safety
The summer of 2024 was truly dynamic and
challenging - working on wind farm construction projects
in Croatia and Germany, I gained not only new knowledge
but also valuable experience in an international
environment.
For the second summer in a row I
provided occupational safety supervision in wind farm construction,
but this time I had the opportunity to expand my experience beyond
the Baltic States and travel to Croatia and Germany. In each
of these countries, one supervision project was successfully
completed, with a total of 17 turbines installed.
Wind turbine installation is a complex and changing process, with each situation requiring an individual approach. Working in different climatic conditions, operating with international teams and high safety standards required continuous development of problem solving and decision making skills.
SAFETY IN SOLAR PARK CONSTRUCTION - TRUST SAFETY FIRST!
Renewable energy is our future and solar
parks are becoming an increasingly important source of
electricity worldwide. But to be not only sustainable, but also
safe, these projects need professional oversight of
health and safety systems.
SAFETY FIRST ensures safety in the
construction of solar parks by helping companies to create a
safe, efficient and compliant working environment. Our aim is
to identify and eliminate potential risks and promote a safe
working culture at all stages of construction - from preparation to
installation and connection of solar panels.
Solar park construction - new industry,
new challenges
The construction of solar parks is a
dynamic and challenging process that requires not only high
precision and efficiency, but also strict adherence to
occupational safety. The successful implementation of a project
involves many different phases during which various risks to the
working environment may arise :
- Land preparation and vegetation
clearance - safe handling of heavy machinery and assessment of
the impact of environmental factors.
- Logistics and material delivery
- careful storage and transport of construction
materials.
- Site infrastructure -
ensuring safety measures in road construction and machinery
movement.
- Connection of electricity and
installation of panels - it is particularly important to comply
with electrical safety regulations as the panels start generating
electricity immediately after removal from the packaging.
To avoid accidents and safety violations, our experts carry out comprehensive safety monitoring and advice at all stages of construction.
